How Live Video Streaming Is Getting A Boost In The Coronavirus Times
The COVID-19 Threat and Lock-down,
almost worldwide, are situations that all of us are well aware of, and are
doing our best to protect ourselves, and our world from. Everyone is seeking
solutions to this crisis; and video streaming, live video streaming, and video
streaming apps – among other things, too -- have been coming to the rescue, in
various ways, for all of us – speak we of the sphere of Education, E-commerce,
or, of course, Entertainment.
Educational institutions, offices, and
most other places are remaining locked to prevent people from being exposed to
the Corona virus that can harm them if they step out of their houses to reach
these places. A lot of time, reluctantly, can be lost by students, educators,
and, of course, the rest of us, as well. However, to many, it might seem that
students and Education might be suffering more than many of the rest.
As per a report, the ACE President
Ted Mitchell had said to the Los
Angeles Times that Corona virus is ‘probably the greatest short-term
challenge facing higher education in a generation.’
It had also been reported that American
universities like the Columbia, Princeton, and Harvard had decided to cancel
classes; moving their lessons online. Harvard, reportedly, had announced
that all its classes shall be online from the 23rd of March, 2020.
According to further reports, Harvard
had advised its students to stay away from the campus once the Spring Recess
was over, and to continue studying remotely ‘until further notice’. The
President of Harvard, Lawrence S. Bacow, had said that ‘the goal of these
changes is to minimize the need to gather in large groups’.
There were reports of:
- · All, or most of the in-person classes having been suspended by at least 5 universities in California.
- · Princeton University saying that all its seminars and lectures were moving online from 23-3-2020.
- · The New York University switching to remote learning.
Such developments demonstrate the steps
that are being taken in the field of education to battle the Corona virus
Threat – indicating, side by side, how remote learning, online classes,
and video streaming, live streaming, or a video streaming app can come to the aid of
students – for saving time, efforts, money, and,
of course, lives, too.
We see that not only can video
streaming, or live
video streaming, prove to
be a means for sharing education with the remote, or rural areas, but video streaming, when integrated with online
learning, can also help learners to access knowledge, and educators to spread
information, in times when even stepping out of the house, be that in the most
modern of cities, can be a risk to life.
Just as video streaming, live
streaming, and video streaming apps are being brought into use in the field of
pedagogy, people are using video streaming in the field of E-commerce, as well.
Advertisements, for one, are being spread through the medium of video, to reach
the maximum number of people, surely, and safely.
People who are working from home are
resorting to video
conferencing for carrying out their office-related work.
People are resorting to video streaming
apps, live streaming, and video streaming more than ever, now, to keep
themselves entertained, involved, and distracted, as well.
In general, video
streaming is witnessing a boom, and live video streaming seems to be
witnessing a major boost during these Corona-Virus times.
